Coaches Procedures for Cadet and Junior Nationals in Fargo

This year Team Tennessee will be going to Cadet and Junior Nationals from July 12-20. All Coaches wanting to help with Team Tennessee and who are not part of the Board or National Teams must apply for Coaching credentials through the TWF Process. 

1. Must have an up-to-date USA Coaches Card, with a Copy Submitted to the Board

2. Must be a Bronze level Coach, with a Copy Submitted to the Board

3. Must attend a Coaches meeting (From the below Schedule) and the Fargo Coaches Meeting

4. Fill out and Sign the Code of Conduct Form

5. Fill out and Sign the Coaches Application for National Team

6. Safe Sport must be done and recognized by system.

7. Finish all requirements and submit to the Board by July 1st for consideration and approval.

For those who are in need of SafeSport training, below are the steps one can take to complete this.

Set up/log into account at (please note that if one has not been in USA Wrestling’s membership system since August 2017, they will need to set up an account)

Claim profile (this can be done using user’s USAW ID or first name, last name, state, and date of birth)

Access SafeSport training from profile or by clicking (please note that when asked for “membership number,” the user should enter his/her USAW ID)

Once an individual has successfully completed the three modules in the SafeSport training, their profile will be automatically updated.

All Wrestlers must have attended TNUSA State and ANY Regional or received a waiver. Forms and Paperwork for Fargo must be mailed by June 20th and received no later than JUNE 24th, to be entered into the Tournament.

Entries are as follows:

   Wrestlers with their own arrangement for Hotel and Travel to Fargo $400

Wrestlers needing to Travel with the State $1000

Entry includes 2 State singlets to be worn while competing at Fargo, Bag, Fight Shorts, T Shirt, and 1/4 Zip to be worn on the Podium

It is an honor and a privilege to represent TNUSA at CADET AND JUNIOR NATIONALS in Fargo, and all wrestlers will be held to this standard. While representing TNUSA at the Cadet and Junior Nationals all wrestlers will have a schedule to adhere to. All issues will be dealt with by the TWF Chairman and communication with parents will happen right away. 

For wrestlers staying in the Dorms, payments must be received as a separate check made out to "TWF" with the ENTRY FEE. Parents, please call Ben Bowers to get a quote on cost.

Code of Conduct

Participation in activities of TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING, including service as a coach, administrator, trainer, official, or volunteer for teams organized, sponsored, or sanctioned by TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING and competitions, camps, clinics, or appearances for, on behalf of or in representation of TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING, is an honor and a privilege. In consideration of the foregoing, I acknowledge, understand, and agree to abide by and uphold the spirit of this Code of Conduct, which offers a general guide to my conduct. Therefore, I pledge and agree to the following:
1. I will at all times display the conduct expected of me as a representative of TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING, act in a sportsmanlike manner consistent with the spirit of fair play and conduct myself in a manner that will not in anyway bring disrespect, or dishonor to either myself, TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING, or the athletes or other representatives of TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING.
2. I will conform to all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, and any rules, regulations, and codes that may be established for competitions, camps, clinics, appearances or other events, programs, and activities in which I participate.
3. I will respect the property of others, whether personal or public.
4. I will respect members of TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING teams and delegations, other teams and delegations, spectators, coaches, trainers, administrators, and officials, and engage in no form of verbal, physical, or sexual harassment, or abuse. I will not engage in any inappropriate behavior with athletes, coaches, trainers, administrators, officials, or volunteers, nor will I use or attempt to use my position to exert undue influence or to seek unfair advantage over others, including athletes.
5. I will follow my TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING delegation rules including, by way of example, for participation in or attendance at Events, practices, team meetings, travel, accommodations and curfews, official ceremonies, and public relations assignments.




6. In addition to the foregoing, but not by way of limitation, the following could result in disciplinary proceedings:
A. Transporting, possession, or under the influence of alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, any IOC-banned medication or substances, or any other substances or procedures in violation of the USOC National Anti-Doping Program. There also will be no use of tobacco, or tobacco products, around athletes or during team functions.
B. Any physical damage to facilities, equipment, furnishings, or loss of items in a room where I am lodged, which will be paid for by those individuals assigned to the room in which the damage or loss occurs, including willful destruction of property (including that caused by horseplay, fighting, etc.)
C. Any act considered to be an offense under federal, state, or local laws;
or a violation of the applicable rules, regulations, or codes of TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING, USA WRESTLING, or the organizer of an Event in which I participate.
D. Gross misconduct (i.e. inappropriate horseplay, theft, fighting, etc,)

7. I realize and understand that if I violate this Code of Conduct I will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the disciplinary procedures of TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING. I also understand while I am in attendance at an Event, discipline may be imposed by the team or delegation leader or other responsible person(s) at the Event. The consequences of my actions could possibly affect my opportunities to serve as coach, administrator, trainer, official or volunteer for TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING and my membership in TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING in the future. Disciplinary action could include, but not by way of limitation, any one or more of the following:
A. Dismissal from a TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING delegation.
B. Expulsion from an Event and being sent home immediately, or other restrictions on activities.
C. Denial of participation in future Events.
D. Requirements to issue written or verbal apologies.
E. Revocation of accreditation for Events, activities, and/or facilities.
F. Suspension or expulsion from TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING or from TENNESSEE USA WRESTLING programs and activities.

I recognize that this Code of Conduct does not establish a complete set of rules, which prescribes every aspect of appropriate behavior.

Wrestling begins – 9:00 A.M.

 - Greco-Roman will be wrestled first with freestyle beginning immediately following.

 - Order of dual meets will be randomly drawn at the event.

 - Two mats running. Plus warm-up / exhibition mat

Schoolboy, Cadet, and Juniors are all eligible for this event



Teams from West (Memphis), Middle (Nashville, Clarksville, etc.), South (Chattanooga, etc.), and East (Knoxville, Kingsport, Johnson City, etc.) regions are represented.  Teams are put together by the region directors for each region.  See the list below and contact our region director if you wish to be on a team.

2018 Bluff City Brawls Freestyle/Greco Tournament

Come and compete in West TN's only freestyle/greco TWF-sanctioned tournament this season.  Perfect warm-up for the TWF Ironman Tournament on April 14th.

Location:  Bartlett Freshman Academy, 4734 Shadowlawn Road, Arlington, TN 38002

Date/Time:  Saturday April 7th, 2018

Check-In:  9:00 AM - 9:45 AM


DIVISIONS:  Bantam (2010-2011), Intermediate (2008-2009), Novice (2006-2007), Schoolboy (2004-2005), Cadet (2002-2001), Junior (9/1/1998-2001 & currently enrolled in grades 9-12), Senior (Born before 9/1/1998)



Search for "Bluff City Brawls". Official flyer is attached to the tournament online. Participants can register for one or both wrestling styles ($10 for Freestyle and $10 for Greco). Registration closes April 7th at 12:00 AM.  ON-SITE REGISTRATION is allowed.

WEIGH-INS:  Coaches will perform weigh-ins for their own team on Friday and send in weights by 11:00 PM on Friday.  Weigh-ins will also be on site from 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM.  Scratch weight (106 lbs will need to weigh 106.0 or less with singlet).

ADMISSION: $6 for Adults and $3 for Children 12 and under
